Alyssa Thompson, DVM, is a Virginia girl. She moved to Northern Virginia when she was five years old, then spent her college years in Williamsburg at The College of William and Mary. She moved to Blacksburg in 1993 to attend the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, and upon graduation in 1998 moved to the beautiful city of Richmond.
Dr. Thompson’s practice interests are in internal medicine, geriatric care, and holistic therapies. She spends her free time walking her two pit bulls, Silk and Leeta, through Carytown and the Fan or hiking them in the Appalachian trails. She also enjoys cooking and entertaining friends and family. The rest of the Thompson zoo includes her 2 cats, Pablo and Isabel; two guinea pigs, Sunny and Stormy; and two horses, Gambler and Guess What.
